Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants/physician associates, pharmacists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, dieticians, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with HIV, STIs, viral hepatitis, COVID-19, MPXV, and substance use disorders.

Educational Objectives 
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how federal agencies are implementing a syndemic approach to addressing epidemics of HIV, STIs, viral hepatitis, COVID-19, MPXV, and substance use disorders.
  • Identify how barriers to care impact health outcomes.
  • Describe a synchronized syndemic approach to mitigating and ultimately eliminating syndemics and pandemics.
  • Identify training and educational opportunities that support Black women’s health.
